The Skills for You(th) through Sport (SK4YS) handbook is out!
Updated: Oct 8
On behalf of the SK4YS partnership, ENGSO Youth proudly presents the SK4YS handbook. The handbook aims to raise awareness on the transferable skills that sport-based educational activities can develop for young people - especially those not in employment, education or training. The publication is preliminarily addressing youth and sport organizations that aim to deliver programs that can boost certain soft skills of youngsters from fewer opportunities backgrounds. Besides providing practical advices, it also features ten European organizations that run employability and sport-based development programs for youth target groups.
With the publication we aim to increase the recognition of sport-based education as a tool for developing transversal skills of young people. Our work builds on the Study on the contribution of sport to the employability of young people in the context of the Europe 2020 strategy and it aims to transfer the knowledge in a user-friendly form to all interested stakeholders.
Now it’s our turn to speak up for the benefits of sport and physical activity! Help us to spread the publication to the main target groups of SK4YS: youth, sport and educational organizations, youth workers, youth leaders, NGO staff and coaches across Europe!
The SK4YS project is supported by the Erasmus+ Sport program, we are truly grateful for the support of the European Union.
Of course, our handbook would not have been published without the contributions and support of our partners:
