SK4YS project goes online | 3rd international meeting
The third international meeting of the Skills for You(th) through Sport #SK4YS project took place online. Initially the meeting was planned to be hosted by the European University Sport Association (EUSA) in Ljubljana, Slovenia, but due to the ongoing threat of the Covid19, was carried out via video conference app instead.
All five partners joined the meeting, and ENGSO Youth, to discuss the current developments of the SK4YS: European University Sport Association, European Observatoire for Sport and Employment, Cyprus Youth Council, Oltalom Sport Association and Budapest Association for International Sport.
The participants addressed various topics:
The creation of the database which includes the European Sport Plus and Plus Sport initiatives considered good practices. You can have a look at it here.
The development of the handbook which will serve as an educational manual providing youth and sport organisations with practical tips on how to develop sport-based employability programs for young people not in education, employment and training (the so called NEETs).
The upcoming online communication campaign which will highlight the importance of soft skills (developed through sport).
The two years long Erasmus+ funded SK4YS project builds on a cross-sectoral approach of sport, youth, employment and education policies of the European Union and on the outcomes of the Study on the contribution of sport to the employability of young people in the context of the Europe 2020 strategy. It aim is to raise awareness on soft skills developed through sport practice in order to increase employability of young people with fewer opportunities.
