Rawand & Aladdin | Inclusion through football
Updated: Oct 23, 2020
Rawand and Aladdin participated in the Sporting Inclusion and Diversity international activity, which was held in Vilnius, Lithuania, in August, and funded by the Council of Europe through the European Youth Foundation.
As a follow-up activity, they both took part in Mondiali, the biggest sports event with 250+ participants at BME Sporttelep, Hungary, as volunteers.
The event was open to people from different backgrounds and from all walks of life. The aim of the event was to enjoy one day of being active - together.
Rawand helped at the registration desk for the first part of the day, checking in the participants, measuring their temperature (COVID control measures) and providing basic information. In the afternoon she joined the football activity and helped Budapest Association for International Sport (BAIS) organise the tournament.
From the start, Aladdin helped BAIS with the organisation of the football activity. He also took on the role of a referee.
During the event, they both shared the lessons they have learned during the SPIDI international activity. SPIDI gave them the tools to be more "open" with refugees and the knowledge on how to include them in the sport activities.
They are discussing the possibility of having a workshop about Refugees Inclusion through Sports in the next BAIS event.
