The ENGSO Youth General Assembly (GA) took place in Lisbon on 29-30th of April 2015. During the GA, elections were held to choose the new leadership that will steer the organisation for the 2015-2017 mandate. The rest of the Committee is entirely new and composed by Romain Fermon (FRA) as Vice Chair, Gerda Katschinka (AUT), Xicu Colomar (ESP), Michael Leyendecker (GER), Mariann Bardocz-Bencsik (HUN), Lea Van Breukelen (NED), Filipa Godinho (POR) and Filip Filipic (SRB).

General Assembly 2015

All Committee Members have been part of the Sport Sector for several years already and are extremely experienced, both at national and international level. "With such an experienced committee steering the Organisation, we can aim at a completely different set of goals. The competences that the newly elected members bring to ENGSO Youth, along with their motivation and energy, represent the greatest asset a youth-led Organisation could have", said the new Chairman.

The geographical representativeness of the Committee has changed significantly from previous years. New Countries are now present in the Committee, demonstrating a completely new interest in supporting youth and sport issues at National and European level. "We are very happy to see such interest and, as a Committee, we will do our best to support those Countries to further expand the youth participation in the field of sport. There is more and more need of active young people in the field of sport in Europe" concluded Paolo Emilio Adami, new Chairman elect.

The GA saw also the awarding of Carole Ponchon, from France, as "Best Sport Volunteer of the Year". Her engagement and contribution to ENGSO Youth projects had a massive impact, allowing the success of several activities, in particular in the recently ended "Sport Employs Europe" Project. Youth employment it's an area that ENGSO Youth has been thoroughly tackling and Carole's expertise in the field has played a key role in the success of the project. The partnership that ENGSO Youth has established with EOSE (European Observatoire of Sport Employment) in the field of Youth Employment in Sport, has been deeply reinfoced through Carole's contribution. Now the two Organisation along with the other partners of the project are planning the future actions and drafting the next project developments.

The General Assembly represented also the chance to strenghten the partnerships with one of ENGSO Youth's closest partner, EUSA (European University Sport Association). The successful cooperation in several projects has brought the two Organisation closer together ending in a long lasting partnership. The two Sports Organisation will partner together again soon in other projecs and continue to share objectives and activities. The GA ended with the invitation to the next ENGSO Forum that will take place in Brussels on the 11-12 of September 2015.
